Production CNC machining for firearms OEMs

Firearm parts have to fit, function, and hold their finish after heat, cold, vibration, and repeated handling. Plastimold machines production metal components for licensed firearms OEMs and tactical product teams: parts held to print on every run, not one-off samples.

We work from your CAD and print package: material, critical dimensions, finishes, and quantities. Setups, tooling, and inspection plans are built for repeatability, so repeat production matches the approved first article. Because CNC machining and injection molding run in the same Delray Beach operation, one team can review your machined metal parts and molded polymer parts together—interfaces, tolerances, and assembly—before production starts. For the full picture of our equipment and process, see our precision CNC machining page.

CNC machined firearm barrels

Barrels are one of the parts we machine most. We produce barrels and barrel-related components for licensed firearms OEMs on production schedules, from the approved first article through repeat runs. Every barrel program starts with your print: material, critical dimensions, finish, and any plating or coating callouts. Setups and inspection plans are built so each lot matches the approved first article, and critical dimensions are checked against the print before release. Because we also mold grips, stocks, and hand guards in the same building, barrel and polymer parts for one program can be planned together.

5-axis and mill/turn machining for firearm components

Many firearm components combine angled features, pockets, bores, and turned diameters on a single part. 5-axis CNC and mill/turn multi-axis machining let us reach more of those features in fewer setups. Fewer re-clamps means less stack-up and more consistent feature-to-feature relationships from part to part. Our CNC platforms include Makino, Okuma, Mazak, and Haas.
Firearm part families we can quote:

Barrels and barrel-related components

Receivers and lower receivers

Rail systems and mounting interfaces

Metal inserts and hardware for molded grips, stocks, and housings

Fixtures and gauges for your assembly line

Materials for machined firearm parts

Material follows your print. Production work commonly includes aluminum, stainless steel, and tool steels, plus tougher alloys when a program calls for them. We review alloy choice, surface finish, and any plating or coating requirements with your engineers before release. Plating and coating are managed with qualified vendors when required. If a part would work better as a molded polymer component, we’ll tell you and show you the molding path.

FFL / SOT compliance and quality for firearm parts

FFL / SOT Registered manufacturing — no public transfers

Plastimold is FFL / SOT Registered: an ATF FFL manufacturer serving licensed OEM and regulated manufacturing programs. Our FFL capability supports compliant production work: you bring the product requirements and approved program context, and Plastimold provides manufacturing support for machined parts, molded plastic components, and related production steps within scope. This is OEM licensed manufacturing, not a consumer service.

Plastimold does not offer public firearm transfers, facilitate retail transfers, or process Form 4473 transactions for the public. Please don’t send firearms to us for transfer; they will not be accepted.

Inspection and quality systems

Quality starts with clear requirements, controlled revisions, traceable approvals, and inspection plans matched to the part. Critical dimensions are checked against the print, with Mitutoyo CMM inspection where the part calls for it, and first-article results are documented before production release. Our quality systems include ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and ISO 13485. For ITAR, CAGE, and certificate details, see our Quality & Certifications page.

Built to scale in Delray Beach

Some shops can sample. We scale. 33,000 sq ft in Delray Beach — prototype to full-scale production and beyond, within months.

For firearms OEMs, that means CNC machining, injection molding, inspection, assembly, and fulfillment in one Delray Beach operation, with a domestic supply plan built around your forecast. With 27+ years in precision manufacturing, we plan for repeat production, not just the first run.

Need molded firearm parts too?

Grips, stocks, braces, hand guards, holsters, magazines, and housings are usually best made by injection molding. Our firearms injection molding page covers materials such as polycarbonate and glass-filled nylon, tooling, and production molding. For licensed OEM programs, we can also combine CNC machined parts and injection molded components into complete firearm builds, then assemble, package, and ship to your customer.

Firearms CNC machining FAQ

Yes. Barrels are one of the parts we machine most. We make barrels and barrel-related components for licensed firearms OEMs, built to your print for material, dimensions, and finish. Send your drawing, quantities, and timing for a quote.

No. Plastimold is FFL / SOT Registered and works with licensed OEM programs as an ATF FFL manufacturer. We do not offer public firearm transfers, facilitate retail transfers, or process Form 4473 transactions.

Yes. CNC machining and injection molding run under one roof in Delray Beach, so one team reviews both—interfaces, tolerances, and assembly—before production. That also makes complete builds simpler to plan.

Our CNC platforms include Makino, Okuma, Mazak, and Haas, covering 5-axis and mill/turn multi-axis work. Our facility page lists the equipment on the floor.

Send CAD files (STEP, Parasolid, IGES, or SolidWorks) and a print with material, critical dimensions, tolerances, finish, and any plating or coating callouts, plus quantities, annual volume, and timing. We respond within 2 business days.
